Installation Example CAD PDFs
Ledger Connection Example STEP 1:
Choose a floor joist inside the house that is adjacent to
where the deck is supported. The location should be free
of obstacles (air ducts, pipes, wires) and fairly easily
accessed.
Hold a bracket in place and mark the location for the hole
to be drilled through the band board and the ledger board.
Remove the bracket and drill a 1/2 " hole through the
ledger and the band board. (See photos 1.1 & 1.2.)

STEP 2:
From the inside of the house, install a 1/2" x 5" bolt
in the bracket and push the bolt through the hole that was
just drilled.
From the outside of the house (under the deck) install a
flat washer, lock washer and retaining nut on the bolt. Thread
the nut on loosely to allow adjustment of the bracket. See

STEP 3:
Back inside, hold the bracket tight against the
floor joist and drill through one of the four holes in the
bracket to allow for a bolt to be run through the floor joist.
NOTE: KEEP THE DRILL AS LEVEL AND SQUARE AS POSSIBLE WHILE
DRILLING THESE HOLES!
|
STEP 4:
Install a 1/2" x 3" bolt in the new
hole and place a second bracket on opposite side of floor joist.
Slide the bracket over the protruding bolt through the corresponding
hole. Install a flat washer, lock washer and retaining nut
onto the bolt. Hand tighten the nut to hold the second bracket
in place. See photo See photo 4.0
