DeckLok in the PressBack to the main In The Press Page Deck strengthening bracketsDeckLok brackets help prevent deck, railing and stair collapse in new construction and retrofit applications. The bracket system strengthens the critical connections between deck components. They address the three most critical connections on a deck - ledger boards, stair stringers, and railing systems. A deck's ledger board is anchored to the building floor joists. Stair stringer connections to the deck frame are reinforced to reduce the risk of stairs shifting away from the deck and collapsing. Rail posts are strengthened with a bolted connection oriented in shear between the rail post and deck floor joist. The brackets are constructed from 16 gauge steel and available in post-manufactured hot-dip galvanized coating and in 304 and 316 stainless steel. They are compatible with treated wood. ©Commercial Building Products Magazine |
